“HELP. . . I HAVE A 7TH GRADER!” SEMINAR SPOTLIGHTS JUNIOR HIGH ANXIETIES
Local Church Offers “How-To” Session for Parents of 7th Graders
Puberty, pimples and parents are just a few of the issues young teenagers face when they promote to 7th grade each fall. First Baptist Church of Orange Park is offering a crash course for parents on how to safely and sanely guide their teen through the junior high jungle. The free 2-hour seminar, “Help . . . I Have a 7th Grader!” will be held in the Student Center (1140 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park) on Sunday, August 4 at 6pm.
John Green, Principal of Lakeside Junior High, and Dave Paxton, Student Pastor of First Baptist will discuss some of the major hurdles facing new 7th graders:
- Internet guidelines
- Physical and psychological changes
- Staying connected to your teenager
“Junior high is the harshest and cruelest environment in American culture,” Paxton said. “We want to help you and your 7th grader have a healthy junior high experience.”
The free event is for parents only and there will be a Q and A session. For more information, call Dave Paxton at 904-264-2351.
