7/24		UNF Natural High Health Fair To promote the natural healing and treatment to the UNF community through handouts, interactive activities and demonstrations We would like the UNF campus to get a new holistic experience. The “Natural High Health Fair” will help educate the students, faculty, and staff on the benefits of Natural Healing. Businesses and organizations are asked to bring pamphlets as well as an interactive demonstration or activity that the campus community can participate in. 7/25		The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk Kick-off The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk Kick-off will take place on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 6 - 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at Maverick’s Rock N’ Honky Tonk at The Jacksonville Landing, 2 Independent Drive, Jacksonville. Tickets for the event are being sold for a minimum donation of $10 and can be purchased online or by calling 904.252.4534. Tickets include the first beer or wine, yummy food, entertainment and a door prize ticket. Bring friends, family, colleagues, and others to this fun night that benefits the Alzheimer's Association, Central & North Florida Chapter. Door prizes will be drawn at 7:30pm. 9/20 - 9/21		JDRF Gala Ball The North Florida JDRF is hosting its annual Miracles in the Moonlight Gala Ball on Saturday, September 20, 2008. The theme for the evening is “Broadway on the Riverbank” and will be held at the Hyatt Regency. We will be honoring Peter Bragan Jr. and Sr., owners of the Jacksonville Suns Baseball team. There will be dinner, dancing, and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $150 per person and a table of 10 is $2500. Sponsorships are available. The evening starts at 6:00pm with cocktails and a huge silent auction. Then there is dinner, dancing and a live auction from 7:30pm-midnight. We hope to raise over $300,000 to fund a cure for diabetes and hopefully my 15 year-old daughter Samantha will be cured in her lifetime! 9/20		4th Annual "Walking for Huntington Disease" Huntington’s Disease (HD) is an inherited brain disorder that leads to severe incapacitation and eventual death 10-40 years after the onset of the disease. Although it usually affects adults between the ages of 30 and 45, symptoms can appear in young children (Juvenile HD) and adults in their golden years. 10/7		14th Annual Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast Hubbard House will host the 14th Annual Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast, which is held annually to honor former Mayor Jake Godbold’s sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Campbell, whose life tragically ended when her husband shot her then killed himself in 1995.
