CDC Says Pregnant Women Should Get Whooping Cough Shot

Women who are pregnant should get a booster shot to protect their unborn babies from whooping cough, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. According to the new vaccine schedule the CDC released yesterday, vaccinating pregnant women serves a dual purpose of keeping expectant moms from getting whooping cough and passing it to their infants, and it allows some immune cells to pass to babies before birth.
