Cough Syrup Recalled Over Faulty Caps

2/1/2013

A popular cough syrup is being recalled over concerns the child-resistant feature of some bottle caps are malfunctioning. Novartis AG is recalling it s Triaminic and Theraflu Warming Relief Syrups produced in the U.S. before December 2011. The company has received several reports of children managing to open and drink from bottles of Triaminic syrup. While no incidents have been reported with the Theraflu product, it's being recalled because it has the same cap. Novartis believes 97% of the syrup has already been used. The Lincoln, Nedraska facility where the syrups were produced has been closed since December 2011.
