Attorneys General Ask FDA To Regulate E-Cigarettes


Attorney General from 41 states are urging the Food and Drug Administration to set up rules controlling the sale of e-cigarettes. The request comes less than a week after 15 public health organizations including the American Lung Association sent a letter to President Obama asking him to pressure the FDA to act, Currently the FDA regulates cigarette tobacco, but not e-cigarettes , cigars or pipe tobacco. Sale of e-cigarettes have doubled since 2008. There are also no restrictions on advertising e-cigarettes.
