The FDA is giving approval for a nasal spray to be sold over the counter to treat nasal allergy symptoms in children and adults. The Sanofi product will labeled as Nasacort Allergy 24-hour. Its the first allergy spray to be made available without a prescription that contains a medication to reduce inflammation. It should be available in the spring of 2014. The sprays label will advise consumers that some children who use the product may have a slightly slower growth rate.
