Too much sugar can kill you. A new study says consuming high amounts of sugar in things like soda, cakes, cookies and candy increases the risk of death from heart disease. Researchers with the Center for Disease Control and prevention found that people who consumed more than 21 present of daily calories from added sugars had double the risk of death from heart disease as people consuming less than ten percent of calories from added sugars. Major sources of added sugars in Americans' diets are desserts, fruit drinks, ice cream, candy, and sweetened drinks. The study is published online in "JAMA Internal Medicine."
