How to Choose Countertops
There are a lot of options out there - tile, granite, glass, stainless steel, butcher's block. How do you choose? Well, this of course depends on budget, space limitations, and other limiting factors. What would be a good fit for you and for resale value? You want to have high end, expensive-looking counters, but if you overdo it in the kitchen, remember yours might be the only one on the block that does - and that limits buyers.
Stainless steel is easy on price. Some countertops are also anti-bacterial. Take our fun little quiz and maybe it will give you an insight to your style.

 your style preference is Style B: Conservative. You prefer monochromatic color schemes with a unified material distribution. You enjoy classic details and avoid strong colors. Trends may be interesting but are not your focus. You feel comfortable with subtle accents.

Counters: Monochromatic color schemes and classic details - chrome finishes and handle pulls, warm tile, cherry or medium blonde woods.
If you choose mostly Cs
 your style preference is Style C: Contemporary. You prefer contemporary and traditional elements. You enjoy carefully distributing strong accent colors like mixing different materials throughout your space. You feel comfortable in a visually engaging space that is grounded with clean lines.
Descriptive Words: unique, traditional, contemporary and balanced
Counters: Mix colors and textures then ground them with cleans lines. Granite countertops (or a composite to save some money) say mixed with a striking accent color for your backsplash. Blonde woods mixed with other materials (see picture). Or say, bubtle butcher block for your island, jazzed up with stainless steel accents around the kitchen.
