Marie Osmond's Son Laid to Rest in Utah
Michael Bryan, the 18-year-old son of Marie Osmond who took his own life last month, was buried in Provo, Utah on Monday, the Associated Press confirms. About 450 people attended the service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel near Salt Lake City, where Marie, brother Donny Osmond and five of their siblings sang a hymn. A student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, the troubled young man was "always smiling," a grieving friend told UsMagazine.com. "If you were sad, he would be the one to make you feel better. He would find a way to make you laugh. He was there if you needed anything." Yet on Feb. 26, Michael -- who had struggled with depression -- left a despondent note for a friend and jumped from the eighth floor of his Los Angeles apartment building. Michael was one of Marie's five adopted children (she had eight children overall) with her ex-husband, Brian Blosil. The AP confirms that Michael had changed his last name from "Blosil" to "Bryan." Marie Osmond, 50, and Donny Osmond, 52, resume performances of their Las Vegas show on Tuesday.

Mourners gathered at a church on the southwest side of Chicago on Monday to say farewell to Dawn Brancheau, the SeaWorld trainer who was attacked and drowned by a killer whale last week. Arriving for the funeral mass at St. Rita's, friends of Brancheau, 40, recalled a woman whose life was cut short doing the very thing she loved most – working with whales. "It's a very, very sad thing," family friend Michael VanWagner told the local CBS station WBBM-TV. "She's going to be missed by hundreds of people. It's a horrible thing." Illinois state Rep. Michael Zalewski added: "It's pretty evident from everybody you talk to that she died doing exactly what she loved doing. I think it's important that everyone comes out and remembers that. She was very happy in her profession." Brancheau, who had worked with killer whales for 16 years, was pulled underwater by a 12,000-pound male whale named Tilikum and drowned on Feb. 24. Brancheau grew up in northwest Indiana but had strong family ties to Chicago. The burial was due to take place later on Monday in Alsip, Ill.

Susan Boyle's older brother John says his world-famous sister "needs 24-hour care." Boyle's other brother, Gerry, says his sister's overnight fame has done nothing to ease her personal problems. Gerry Boyle says, quote, "The traveling...thing is exhausting. She still has her anxieties and her loneliness." The singer has supposedly been calling friends and family at all hours of the night since her home was broken into last month. Even the singer's friend, Lorraine Campbell, says that, quote, "nighttime is a lonely time for her." More on what Boyle's brothers have to say can be read in the latest issue of "People," which comes out on Friday.
